A recent teardown by Android Authority has revealed that Android phones may soon receive notifications when a Fitbit device is fully charged. This feature has been a long-standing request by Android users, especially since iPhone users have already enjoyed this capability for some time. The addition would allow users to avoid the hassle of repeatedly checking their tracker for a charge status. Google recently updated the Fitbit app, enhancing the Device Settings page to align more closely with the Pixel Watch app.
This indicates that the company is committed to improving the user experience and is not stopping with just the recent updates. The APK teardown conducted on the Fitbit app for Android (version 4.46) indicated the presence of notifications related to a full charge, making it evident that this feature could be on the horizon. The inclusion of a notification titled “Full Battery” along with a reminder description for when the device is fully charged suggests practicality for users who often need to stay aware of their device status without constant checks. Currently, the Fitbit app can send a Low Battery alert to users, prompting them to recharge their trackers.
However, the anticipated full battery notification would significantly enhance user convenience. Although there is no confirmed timeline for when this feature will roll out to the Android app, the hope is that it will arrive soon, alleviating some of the frustrations of Android users who have been waiting for such a function.
