A recent survey indicated that many T-Mobile customers are considering alternatives due to recent changes in the carrier’s offerings. T-Mobile, with over 131 million subscribers as of Q1 2025, is the second-largest telecom provider in the US.
However, the retirement of the Go5G plans and the unbundling of taxes and fees from monthly prices have prompted users to explore other options. In our survey, Google Fi and Visible emerged as the top alternatives.
The survey garnered more than 4,400 votes, with Google Fi receiving the support of over 1,280 respondents, accounting for 29% of the total votes. Since Google Fi operates on T-Mobile’s network, users who are satisfied with their T-Mobile coverage may find a seamless transition to Google Fi.
Additionally, Google Fi offers competitive pricing and prioritizes its customers at the same level as regular T-Mobile postpaid plans during network congestion. Free smartwatch data across all plans further enhances its appeal.
Visible, the runner-up in the survey with over 1,050 votes (24%), operates on Verizon’s network. This makes it an excellent choice for those considering a switch due to cell reception issues with T-Mobile.
Visible’s plans are straightforward and competitive in terms of pricing, with taxes and fees included, simplifying the decision-making process for users. Following these two are Mint Mobile, which also utilizes T-Mobile’s infrastructure, and offers the lowest effective monthly rates for users willing to pay upfront.
Other mentioned options include US Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile, Boost Mobile, Straight Talk, Helium Mobile, Tello, and Connect by T-Mobile. Ultimately, the best choice varies by individual needs, underscoring the importance of competition in the telecom market.
Each alternative presents unique benefits, catering to diverse consumer preferences.
