Samsung Wallet is set to enhance its features by introducing compatibility for digital keys for Mercedes-Benz vehicles. This exciting development will allow users to conveniently start, lock, and unlock their cars directly from their smartphones. In addition, the application will enable users to securely share their digital keys with friends and family, while also giving them the ability to restrict access as needed. Currently, Samsung Wallet supports a variety of vehicle brands, including Hyundai, BMW, Volvo, and Audi.
With the upcoming support for Mercedes-Benz, expected to roll out in July 2025, the app will broaden its appeal to a wider audience of automobile owners. While an exact release date has not been specified, the integration is highly anticipated. Samsung has highlighted the security of its digital keys, emphasizing that they feature “government-grade security from Samsung Knox”. The company assures users that digital keys are embedded within their devices, adhering to stringent security standards to prevent unauthorized access.
Furthermore, if a device containing a digital key is lost or stolen, users can remotely lock or delete the key using Samsung Find. However, it’s important to note that this new feature will not be available on all Samsung devices. The compatibility is confirmed for the Galaxy S21 and later models, including the S22, S23, S24, S25 series, and the Z Fold 3 and subsequent models. Additionally, the available car models may vary by region.
Users are encouraged to check the official resources to determine if their specific car model will be supported. With these advancements, Samsung Wallet continues to position itself as a comprehensive platform for managing various digital items securely and conveniently.
