HONOR has introduced the Magic V5, touted as the thinnest foldable phone in the world, showcased through several online images. The photos reveal a sleek phone featuring a significant camera bump, which some users may find noteworthy.
The reputation of HONOR within the foldable phone space has been remarkable, especially after the launch of the Magic V2 in 2023, which gained attention for being exceptionally thin. This was followed by the release of the Magic V3, which further pushed the boundaries of thinness.
Now, the company is gearing up for the debut of the Magic V5, which it claims will surpass both predecessors in thinness. Images of the Magic V5 were shared on Weibo, highlighting the device from various angles, including top, bottom, and side views.
These visuals indicate that HONOR has managed to achieve a notably slim design, making it a strong contender in the foldable market. While comparisons to the recently leaked Galaxy Z Fold 7 renders might be challenging, it’s evident that the HONOR Magic V5 holds its own regarding sleekness.
Both devices, however, share a design feature: a prominent camera bump. This may come as a disappointment to those hoping for a completely streamlined appearance.
The inclusion of sizable camera systems appears to be a trade-off necessary to ensure high-quality photography in a slim form factor. HONOR is set to launch the Magic V5 in China on July 2.
Details on a global release remain unclear, but history suggests that international buyers may need to wait until September for wider availability. Enthusiasts are hopeful that HONOR will reduce the time gap between markets.
