Google rebrands Find Hub as Find My Device vanishes from Android Settings

Google has completed the rebranding of its Find My Device tool, now known as Find Hub, following the addition of a new feature that enables users to locate people alongside their devices. Earlier this year, the company renamed the Find My Device app to Find Hub, incorporating separate tabs for Devices and People to clarify the new functionality. This shift was designed to enhance the user experience by making it easier to locate both devices and individuals.

Recently, Google has extended the Find Hub branding to the Android Settings app as part of the latest Google Play services update. Now, all instances of “Find My Device” within the Settings app have been updated to display the new name. Specifically, the toggle within the Security & Privacy settings is now labeled as Find Hub, allowing users to manage their location settings more intuitively.

When users tap on the Find Hub option, they are directed to an updated settings page featuring a toggle that reads “Allow device to be located,” replacing the previous label. Furthermore, links to the Find Hub app and web interface have also been updated to reflect the new branding. In addition, the Google services menu, which can be accessed by clicking on the username at the top of the Settings app, now reflects the Find Hub branding in the “Recommended” tab.

The rollout of Google Play services version 25.20.37 is widespread, and users have reported these branding changes on their devices. If you have any tips or information to share, feel free to reach out to our staff via email. You can choose to remain anonymous or receive credit for your insights.
