Google is currently in the process of updating some of its widgets for Calendar and Keep, bringing a fresh look and improved functionality to enhance user experience. The Calendar app is experimenting with the Google Sans Flex font and refining its schedule view for more efficient use of space.
The quick capture widget for Keep is also being redesigned to make better use of screen real estate. As developers, Google is committed to enhancing user engagement and responsiveness.
Their constant tweaks to Android apps reflect an ongoing effort to optimize usability. Recent investigations into the in-development features of Google Calendar have revealed the potential incorporation of the Google Sans Flex font.
Now, new updates about changes to widgets for both Calendar and Keep have emerged. In our latest APK teardown of Google Calendar version 2025.13.0-742080714-release, we’ve found that while the app retains its two primary widget formats—a compact schedule view and a full-month overview—modifications are underway.
Notably, the layout of these widgets is undergoing adjustments. The changes feature a visually cleaner design, with the Google Sans Flex font and smaller buttons for adding new entries, thereby increasing the information density without overcrowding the interface.
Simultaneously, the Keep app is moving in the opposite direction by expanding the buttons in its quick capture widget to utilize available height more efficiently. This widget now has the flexibility to fit larger displays, while even the smallest configuration maintains a space-maximizing design.
Overall, Google’s meticulous attention to widget design may indicate that these updates are just the beginning, suggesting further enhancements could follow.
