Gmail is introducing a new feature for Android users that simplifies the process of managing email subscriptions. This update includes a dedicated “Manage subscriptions” page within the app, where users can conveniently view all their active subscriptions. The page presents crucial details about each subscription and provides a straightforward button to unsubscribe with just one tap.
Google has been working on this feature for over a year, and it is finally rolling out to users. The new Manage subscriptions functionality can be found in the app’s overflow menu and automatically compiles a list of all your active subscriptions. Each entry displays the sender’s name and email address, along with the number of emails you’ve received from that particular subscription.
To unsubscribe, users simply need to tap the button next to the subscription and confirm their choice by selecting “Unsubscribe.” In most instances, this action effectively cancels the subscription with a single click. However, it’s worth noting that in some cases, users might be redirected to a webpage to finalize the unsubscription process. If you continue to receive emails after unsubscribing, there’s no need for concern.
The Manage subscriptions page indicates that there may be a brief delay before the sender stops sending messages. Currently, the Manage subscriptions feature is not universally accessible; many users, including those on our devices, have yet to see it. However, we anticipate that this update will reach more Android users shortly.
Additionally, it could soon be available on Gmail for web and iOS platforms as well.
