Recently, Google is preparing to give Gemini a visual makeover by incorporating its classic brand colors. This change aims to replace Gemini’s current two-tone color scheme with Google’s distinctive palette of red, blue, yellow, and green. During our exploration of beta versions of the Google app on Android, we uncovered these aesthetic updates, providing a preview of the newly designed logo and overlay. The APK teardown technique we employed suggests that there may be additional modifications to the Gemini overlay.
Specifically, we anticipate and have observed potential adjustments to the shape of the overlay and suggestion chips, which are likely to shift from the typical rounded rectangles to a more modern pill-shaped design. This change was noted in the latest beta build of the Google app (version 16.25.44.sa.arm64). Moreover, the design updates extend to other elements, such as the microphone button which will no longer feature a circular background. A new bar has also been introduced, allowing users to swipe up and access the full-screen Gemini experience.
Alongside these changes, the revamped Gemini logo with Google’s colors has begun to surface more frequently throughout the app, transitioning from primarily appearing on onboarding screens to being featured in the Gemini Live pop-up and Google AI Pro promo. Although these updates are yet to be available to the general public, we expect them to roll out shortly. We will keep you informed as soon as these enhancements become widely accessible.
