Nothing has recently announced a significant update to its native gallery app, ahead of the anticipated launch of the Nothing Phone 3. Initially introduced with Nothing OS 3.0, the gallery app was basic, offering a minimal interface and limited photo management features. However, with the latest update, it is now equipped with essential image and video editing tools that enhance user experience. The update introduces a range of editing capabilities for images, including multiple cropping and rotation options, color grading adjustments with twelve tuning parameters, and ten unique filters designed by Nothing.
Users can also enjoy a native video editor that enables clipping, volume adjustment, and slow-motion video speed modification. Both the image and video editing interfaces are simple and user-friendly, with haptic feedback for a more engaging experience. In addition to new features, the Nothing Gallery update boasts performance improvements, claiming that the transition from the camera app to the gallery is now over 20% faster, while image processing speeds have increased by up to 25%. Furthermore, the update incorporates AI-powered photo categorization and promotes a unified visual style that harmonizes with the overall Nothing OS.
The update is being rolled out via the Google Play Store, with expectations that all eligible devices will receive it by tomorrow. This release comes as Nothing prepares to debut its flagship device, the Nothing Phone 3, along with a new set of headphones, early next month. The enhancements to the gallery app are indicative of the company’s commitment to providing a competitive user experience in the growing smartphone market.
