Google’s Pixel 10 to Feature Brightest Screen Ever – Android Authority

Google is gearing up for significant screen upgrades in the upcoming Pixel 10 lineup. One of the most notable features will be a new, more eye-friendly Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) mode designed to reduce eye strain. In addition to this, brighter display panels are expected across all Pixel 10 models, with improvements of at least 200 nits compared to the Pixel 9 series. The announcement of the Pixel 10 family is just around the corner, anticipated within the next two months.

As we gather more information about the hardware, details regarding the display technology are becoming clearer. The series will incorporate high-speed backlight modulation, enhancing the user experience by easing eye fatigue during prolonged use. However, this advanced feature will be reserved for the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL models. All models within the Pixel 10 lineup, including the standard version and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, will benefit from the brightness increase.

Google is focusing on delivering superior screen technology, prioritizing the Pro models, although the base model might lack features like adaptive refresh rate (ARR). Improvements in maximum brightness are based on Google’s reported figures for HDR peak brightness, measured “at 100% on-pixel ratio.” For standard models, the anticipated 200-nit increase in maximum brightness may not create a dramatic difference but could enhance readability in bright conditions. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold will see a more significant enhancement, with its inner and outer displays achieving an additional 250 nits of brightness.

While still trailing behind non-folding counterparts, this improvement will ensure that even the Pro Fold’s interior screen surpasses the brightness of last year’s Pixel 9.
