Samsung’s Notes app has received significant updates with the launch of One UI 8, now available for Galaxy phones. These enhancements include an improved interface and several functional upgrades.
Notably, the app now features a customizable toolbar, a revamped Default note style menu, and new search filters, all designed to enhance user experience. The One UI 8 beta update for the Galaxy S25 series not only uplifts the Notes app but also brings improvements to other stock applications like Weather, Calendar, and Reminder.
While the official changelog didn’t highlight modifications for all apps, beta testers have discovered noticeable interface changes and a new Math Solver feature within the Notes application. Screenshots shared by users indicate that the customizable toolbar allows users to long-press to access a menu where they can select preferred tools for editing notes and arrange them in their desired order.
Additional improvements to the Default note style menu include a new landscape layout for notes and redesigned selectors for scroll direction and note colors. The newly integrated search filters streamline the process of locating specific notes more efficiently.
The standout addition in this update is the Math Solver feature, which leverages AI technology to solve mathematical problems. This tool was initially introduced with the Galaxy Tab S10 FE series and is confirmed to be functional on devices equipped with an S Pen, like the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
However, users should note that the Math Solver may not be available for models lacking the S Pen support, such as the S25 Edge.
