One UI 8 May Address Now Bar Issues on Flip Foldable Devices

Leaked information about Samsung’s upcoming One UI 8 suggests that the company is addressing a significant oversight with its Flip foldables, particularly the Galaxy Z Flip series. Recent videos have revealed that the update will feature improved app closing animations, a change that may go unnoticed by many users. However, a more prominent adjustment will involve full Now Bar functionality on the cover screens of these devices, rectifying a limitation present since the launch of One UI 7. Currently, One UI 7 is being rolled out, although it faced considerable delays.

As Samsung prepares for One UI 8, new leaks have emerged that shed light on the animation enhancements and the optimization for the Now Bar feature on Flip foldables. One user, Gamer Omega, shared a video showcasing how One UI 8 manages app closing animations differently than its predecessor. In One UI 7, when an app is closed while another is still finishing, the initial animation would abruptly disappear. This issue appears to have been resolved in One UI 8.

While the improvement in animations might not be a deal-breaker for most users, it’s the Now Bar feature that will have a more noticeable impact. Currently, this feature is available exclusively on the inner display of the Galaxy Z Flip 6, requiring users to open the device for quick access. Integrating the Now Bar into the cover screen will enhance usability significantly, enabling users to access essential controls without unfolding their phone. As excitement builds around One UI 8, users are encouraged to share their thoughts and expectations about the upcoming update.

Samsung seems to be focused on refining the user experience, and this new feature could be a much-anticipated improvement.
