Google App Unveils ‘Activity’ Tab, Enhancing Search History Access and Features (Beta Rollout Update)

The Google app is introducing a new feature called the “Activity” tab, which enhances user engagement by providing easy access to search history from both Chrome and the app itself. This new tab aims to replace the existing “Saved” tab, serving as a centralized hub for managing saved items and browsing history. As of April 29, 2025, the “Activity” tab is being rolled out to beta users without any additional steps, indicating positive progress for the feature. A broader release for stable users is anticipated soon.

The original announcement for this update was made on November 7, 2024, highlighting that the Activity tab would be located at the bottom of the app, facilitating a more integrated user experience for managing searches and saved items. Unlike previous interfaces that relied on a web view, the “Activity” tab offers a fully native app experience. Users will be able to view and manage their search history more efficiently, with options to save, share, or delete specific history items directly within the app. According to a report from Android Authority contributor Assemble Debug, the feature has been in development for nearly two months and has started appearing for select users, indicating that Google is testing its functionality before a wider rollout.

One user, Andrey, shared his experience with the new tab on his Pixel 7 Pro, confirming its availability without any special flags or configurations. Although the feature was not yet available on our own Pixel 8 Pro, it is expected to reach more users shortly. As this development unfolds, users are encouraged to keep an eye out for the “Activity” tab in their Google app.
