Google has announced exciting new AI features that will be integrated into its Workspace applications, following their recent introduction of advanced technologies. During the Google Cloud Next event, the company revealed plans to enhance the functionality of its tools, including Google Docs, Sheets, and Meet.
One of the standout features is called Google Workspace Flows, designed to automate workflows across the various Workspace services. Users can simply describe their desired tasks, and an AI agent will be created to execute these tasks across relevant apps.
Examples provided by Google include reviewing policy documents prior to approvals and organizing customer support tickets. This feature is already available in an alpha program.
Google Docs will also see significant upgrades with two new features. First, the Audio Overviews functionality allows users to generate podcast-style summaries of their documents, making it easier to consume information while multitasking.
This feature is expected to be available in the coming weeks. Additionally, the Help Me Refine feature will act as a writing coach, enhancing arguments and improving the overall structure of documents.
Initially, this capability will only be available in English, with alpha testing set for later this quarter. Furthermore, Google Sheets is gaining an AI feature named Help Me Analyze, which utilizes AI to analyze data and derive insights.
This feature will be launched later this year. Lastly, an always-on Gemini assistant is being introduced in Google Meet.
This assistant can respond to questions during meetings, such as inquiries about missed points, providing a helpful resource for attendees who may step away for a moment. Users can expect this feature to be generally available by the end of June.
