Samsung’s Now Brief feature in the latest One UI 8 beta is set to enhance how users keep track of important dates, specifically birthdays. This new update allows users to receive birthday reminders and even create AI-generated birthday cards.
By simply providing a prompt, users can generate a card in one of six artistic styles, making it a personalized gift option. The Now Brief feature summarizes relevant information multiple times a day.
As revealed by SamMobile, the third One UI 8 beta includes enhancements specifically aimed at celebrating birthdays. With this addition, users will no longer have an excuse for forgetting birthdays.
In conjunction with reminders, Now Brief prompts users to create custom birthday cards via AI, which can be done through a simple image generation request. The app provides several artistic options including watercolor, illustration, pop art, sketch, 3D cartoon, and oil painting styles.
While it remains unclear if the image generation occurs locally or in the cloud, the feature appears straightforward. Though it’s uncertain if users can add text directly to the birthday picture, they could utilize the Samsung Gallery app for this purpose.
After generating the image, users will have options to copy, save, or share it. Notably, Now Brief conveniently suggests relevant contacts, avoiding the hassle of scrolling through long contact lists.
While AI-generated birthday cards may not appeal to everyone, the reminder functionality is quite useful, potentially allowing users ample time to purchase thoughtful gifts. This is part of Samsung’s broader effort to expand Now Brief with additional features such as parking spot reminders, smart home alerts, and customizable cards through the Modes and Routines app.
