A recently leaked render has unveiled Meta’s upcoming “Hypernova” smart glasses, accompanied by a wristband controller. The anticipated Hypernova is set to feature a screen integrated into the right lens, an upgraded camera, and the capability to launch applications for photography and navigation.
Additionally, users will be able to receive notifications directly on the glasses. Reports indicate that the wristband, named “Ceres,” will facilitate gesture-based controls for the smart glasses.
Priced between $1,000 and $1,400, the Hypernova is expected to be launched before the year concludes. Following the success of Meta’s collaboration with Ray-Ban for smart glasses, the company appears to be broadening their range with various styled models.
The newly leaked images provide the first glimpse of the next generation of Meta’s AI smart glasses, codenamed Hypernova. The render was shared by leaker Arsène Lupin, though its low resolution limits the details visible in the wrist accessory.
Previous reports suggested that this wrist controller could be integral to the Hypernova glasses’ user interface, allowing users to execute functions such as scrolling through apps with hand gestures. While the Hypernova glasses bear a resemblance to the current Meta Ray-Bans, earlier leaks have claimed these will incorporate a built-in screen.
This monocular display is expected to reside in the lower-right section of the right lens, although it is difficult to discern in the current render. Once activated, the display is anticipated to showcase a home screen with circular app icons, enabling actions such as photography, viewing images, and accessing maps.
Overall, Meta is gearing up for an exciting launch of the Hypernova smart glasses, with plans already underway for a second-generation version, identified as Hypernova 2, expected to debut by 2027.
