Google Launches Interactive Charts in AI Mode to Boost Your Financial Skills

Google has introduced a new feature called AI Mode, currently in testing, which generates interactive graphs for finance-related queries. This feature simplifies the process of comparing and analyzing financial data over time, allowing users to visualize information more effectively.

The interactive graphs in AI Mode are part of a Search Labs experiment currently accessible to select users. Earlier this year, Google launched AI Mode as an experiment for a limited audience.

At the I/O event, the company opened it up to all U.S. users and enriched it with capabilities like Deep Search and Project Astra. Recently, Google announced it is testing the ability to produce interactive graphics aimed at helping users understand complex datasets related to finance.

In a recent blog post, Google emphasized how AI Mode can assist users by generating customized interactive graphs to compare and analyze financial information over specified periods. For example, when users ask to “compare the stock performance of blue chip CPG companies in 2024,” the AI Mode produces a stock price comparison graph that updates dynamically as users interact with it.

This feature also allows for follow-up questions, enabling users to obtain further insights or refine their initial queries. Currently, the AI Mode feature is limited to finance queries involving stocks and mutual funds, but Google plans to extend its functionality to other topics in the future.

For those interested in testing it, the feature can be enabled in Search Labs, although availability is restricted to the U.S.
