Xiaomi has recently introduced an intriguing coffee-scented smartphone, the Civi 5 Pro Iced Americano variant, exclusively in China. This unique device incorporates a light coffee aroma along with a vegan leather back that contains real coffee grounds.
Priced at approximately $416, the phone is designed to combine functionality with a distinctive sensory experience. The Civi 5 Pro has been released with a focus on aesthetics and user experience.
The “Iced Americano” model features a gold-colored metal frame, setting it apart from the standard versions. Its design continues Xiaomi’s tradition of creating thin and lightweight smartphones, measuring just 7.45mm in thickness and weighing 181 grams.
In terms of camera capabilities, the Civi 5 Pro excels with a 50MP f/2.0 selfie camera that is centrally positioned. Additionally, it boasts a Leica-branded triple-camera system on the back that includes a 50MP main Light Hunter 800 camera, a 50MP telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultrawide shooter.
The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip and features a 6.55-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. With a substantial 6,000mAh battery and 67W wired charging support, it promises to deliver solid performance for users.
While the Civi 5 Pro has made its debut in China, it appears that it may not be available in global markets like its predecessors. Despite this limitation, the innovative concept of a scented smartphone could potentially inspire similar releases outside China.
