Samsung is reportedly working on enhancing the RAM Plus virtual memory feature in its upcoming One UI 8 update. Currently, this feature allows users to allocate up to 8GB of virtual memory, significantly improving multitasking by keeping more apps active in the background.
Initially introduced in 2021, RAM Plus had a maximum limit of 4GB, which was later increased to 8GB in subsequent updates. The latest leaks suggest that One UI 8 may extend this limit even further.
Recent information from *Sammobile* reveals an early build of One UI 8 for the Galaxy Z Flip 6, indicating the addition of a new 12GB RAM Plus limit. This aligns with the physical RAM offered on the Galaxy Z Flip 6, leading many to speculate whether devices with 16GB of physical RAM might eventually support a 16GB virtual memory option.
However, since builds for devices equipped with 16GB of RAM have not yet been seen, this remains uncertain. It is important to note that the new 12GB limit will likely not be available for devices with 8GB or less physical RAM.
As users await the beta releases of One UI 8, there is anticipation surrounding how this upgraded RAM Plus feature will enhance performance across Samsung’s flagship devices. Samsung is expected to announce the full details of the One UI 8 update during the introduction of its next-generation foldables this summer.
Enthusiasts can look forward to testing out the beta program soon, which will shed more light on the possible improvements to RAM Plus and other features.
