One UI 8 Beta Launch: Availability, Eligible Devices, and How to Participate

Samsung has officially started rolling out the One UI 8 beta, primarily for the Galaxy S25 series in South Korea. Reports indicate that the beta is also available in the US for unlocked Galaxy S25 models and T-Mobile users, with additional rollouts confirmed in the UK and Germany.

The first version of this beta, titled S938NKSU3ZYER, is approximately 3GB in size and requires a Wi-Fi connection for download. As the release of the One UI 8 beta unfolds, many users are eager to know which devices will be eligible.

Historically, Samsung typically limits the initial rollout to its flagship models. Hence, it’s expected that the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra will be the first devices to receive the update.

There are indications, including sightings of the beta build on Samsung’s servers, supporting this timeline. However, the Galaxy S25 Edge may see a delayed entry into the beta program, as Samsung often adopts a staggered approach for software deployment.

Furthermore, the anticipated Galaxy S25 FE model is likely to ship with One UI 8 pre-installed, meaning it won’t participate in the beta testing. It’s also possible that older Galaxy devices, like the Galaxy S24 series or Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, may eventually gain access to the One UI 8 beta.

But this could take several months, based on previous patterns observed with One UI 7. The initial rollout will target various regions known for strong beta user bases, including the United States, South Korea, Germany, the UK, India, and Poland.

Samsung is expected to open registrations for the beta program soon, allowing users to enroll through the Samsung Members app, which has been updated to include a new Beta Program Home for easier access to beta information and participation options.
