During the Google I/O 2024 event, the company showcased the multifaceted capabilities of Project Astra for Gemini Live, highlighting how the assistant can engage with users through various input modes.
Initially, these functions were restricted to Gemini Advanced users and specific devices, but Google has since expanded availability due to positive feedback. To utilize Project Astra features, users need to open the Gemini app and tap the Gemini Live button located in the corner of the text input box. This will activate Gemini Live, where users can choose between two buttons—one for video feed sharing and another for screen sharing. After selecting an option, users can ask questions based on what Gemini Live detects.
