Exciting New Switch Emulator “Eden” Set to Launch Tomorrow – Android Authority

A new Nintendo Switch emulator named Eden is set to launch tomorrow in pre-alpha. Developed by a team that previously worked on Citron, Eden is a fork of Yuzu that introduces new features and a revamped user interface. The development team split from Citron due to internal disagreements, but they are ready to present their latest project to the public. As anticipation builds for the Nintendo Switch 2, which is less than a month away, the community of Switch emulation continues to expand.

Despite Nintendo’s attempts to shut down original teams, projects such as Citron and Sudachi have kept the emulation landscape alive. Eden is expected to make a significant impact, especially given its promising features demonstrated in early previews. Eden’s performance has been noted to rival other leading emulators, even in its pre-alpha stage. Demonstrations show games like Breath of the Wild running at 100 frames per second on PC, while titles such as Mario Kart 8 are expected to see improved performance on Android.

This can be attributed to the high caliber of the development team, which consists of experienced members from the Citron project. Lead developer Camille LaVey has shared insights into the decision to release Eden in its current state. External pressures and instances of “fake repositories” have prompted the team to expedite the launch to protect against potential copycats. They are eager to work collaboratively with developers from other projects to lessen the fragmentation in the emulator community.

Eden’s official pre-alpha release is scheduled for May 10 at midday. For updates and the download link, interested users can join the official Discord server, which will provide further information upon launch.
