Xfinity Mobile Enhances Unlimited Plan, Conceals Pay-Per-Use Option – Android Authority

Xfinity Mobile has made significant updates to its mobile plans, including the introduction of a new Premium Unlimited plan that replaces the previous Unlimited Plus plan. This revamped plan comes with several attractive features such as support for 4K video streaming and the ability to upgrade your device twice a year.

However, the by-the-gig plan is still available but is somewhat hidden, requiring customers to actively inquire about it. The new Premium Unlimited plan offers enhanced benefits compared to the standard Unlimited plan.

While the Unlimited plan continues to provide 30GB of high-speed data per month and 480p video streaming, it has introduced WiFi Power Boost to improve Wi-Fi speeds on certain connections. This is vital as Xfinity Mobile customers frequently utilize Comcast’s extensive free Wi-Fi hotspots, with over 90% of customer data traffic occurring on these networks.

Premium Unlimited subscribers benefit from a substantial increase in high-speed data, receiving 100GB monthly before potential deprioritization, up from the previous 50GB limit. They also have access to 30GB of high-speed hotspot data, doubling the amount permitted under the Unlimited Plus plan.

Additionally, subscribers can enjoy the convenience of streaming in 4K, a significant upgrade from the 720p cap of the previous plan, alongside a new feature called Xfinity Call Guard to filter spam calls. Pricing for the Premium Unlimited plan remains at $50 for the first line and $30 for each additional line.

However, it’s important to note that to sign up for Xfinity Mobile, customers must have Xfinity or NOW Internet at home. If this service is canceled, mobile lines incur additional fees until home internet is re-subscribed.

As for the by-the-gig plan, it is still offered but not prominently featured on the website. Interested customers need to contact Xfinity directly or visit a local store to access it, as the company has noted that most users prefer unlimited plans.
