Samsung is reintroducing a ‘Classic’ version for its Galaxy Watch 8. Recent certification from Bluetooth SIG has confirmed the existence of the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, identified by the model number SM-L505U. This exciting development coincides with an upcoming Unpacked event, where Samsung is expected to unveil its latest foldable devices, along with its newest smartwatches.
The listing on Bluetooth SIG provides limited details, but it does indicate that the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic is indeed in the works. This move follows Samsung’s previous smartwatch releases, including the Galaxy Watch FE, Galaxy Watch 7, and Galaxy Watch Ultra from last year. The return of the Classic name signifies Samsung’s intention to enhance its smartwatch lineup further.
In addition to the Classic, there are rumors suggesting that Samsung may also launch a Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. Reportedly, this new model is expected to maintain a similar design to its predecessor, but it could feature increased storage and a graphical interface that aligns with One UI 7. The anticipated price for the Ultra 2 is around €699 (approximately $798 USD), consistent with the original model’s pricing.
Conversely, the existing Galaxy Watch Ultra might see a price reduction to around €400 (approximately $457 USD). There was initial speculation regarding whether the model number SM-L50x was associated with the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic or the Ultra 2. However, recent certification details have clarified this confusion.
Furthermore, the standard Galaxy Watch 8 is expected to be available in two sizes, with model numbers SM-L32x and SM-L33x. If you have any tips or information to share, feel free to contact our staff, and you can choose to remain anonymous or receive credit for your insights.
