Proton Mail Introduces Highly Anticipated Feature Requested by Users

Proton Mail is on track to receive a complete overhaul of its mobile applications, a change that has been eagerly anticipated by users. The Swiss company, known for prioritizing privacy in its email services, has announced that both its Android and iOS apps are being rebuilt from the ground up.

This initiative is part of Proton’s broader roadmap for spring and summer, which also encompasses updates for its Calendar, VPN, Drive, and Pass services. The revamped Proton Mail app promises enhanced performance and stability thanks to a new “faster and more extensible architecture.”

Users can look forward to the introduction of notably requested features, including a new Offline mode. This will enable users to read and compose emails even without an internet connection.

Additionally, an advanced search function is being incorporated to simplify the process of finding specific emails, attachments, and threads. In terms of user experience, the new Proton Mail app will feature a Gmail-like Category view, allowing for automatic sorting of emails by type.

Users will also benefit from improved tools to manage newsletter subscriptions and a new interface to view all received attachments. Internal testing of the new app has already commenced, with a scheduled launch expected this summer.

Furthermore, the Proton Calendar app will undergo a similar transformation, enhancing its functionality for both iPhone and iPad users. New features will include edit access for shared calendars, a home screen widget for ease of scheduling, and future updates will add features like task management, enhanced search capabilities, and offline access.

As Proton prepares to unveil these improvements, users are invited to share their expectations and desired features for the new apps.
