Recent mock-ups of the iPhone 17 family have generated considerable excitement, particularly regarding the iPhone 17 Air. A new video demonstrates just how remarkably thin this model could be, likely rivaling other ultra-thin smartphones on the market.
The iPhone 17 Air appears to be taller than the standard model but slightly shorter than the Pro Max variant, giving consumers interesting choices in terms of size and design. Lewis Hilsenteger from the YouTube channel Unbox Therapy showcased these mock-ups in his latest video and was clearly impressed by the iPhone 17 Air’s dimensions.
He remarked that the phone feels significantly thinner than the other models in the series, attributing this to its thickness of around 5.65mm. In contrast, the Pro Max model is approximately 8.75mm thick, highlighting the Air’s slim profile.
If these measurements hold true, the iPhone 17 Air would be slightly thinner than the anticipated Galaxy S25 Edge, which is expected to be about 5.84mm thick. Interestingly, it may approximate the thickness of an unfolded Galaxy Z Fold 6, which measures 5.6mm when open.
This positions the iPhone 17 Air as a competitive option in the realm of slim smartphones. In addition to the blue mock-ups shown in the video, images of black dummy units have emerged, presented by Sonny Dickson.
These black mock-ups appear more polished than their blue counterparts, indicating a level of refinement in Apple’s design process. While the iPhone 17 Air’s launch remains anticipated, we are also on the cusp of the Galaxy S25 Edge debut, rumored for May 30, which adds to the excitement in the smartphone market.
