Google Releases April Pixel Watch Update Exclusively for Users Who Received March Version – Android Authority

Google recently released an unexpected April update for the Pixel Watch 2 and Pixel Watch 3, but not all users will benefit from it. The company acknowledged that some Pixel Watches did not receive the March update, which introduced the Wear OS 5.1 software. Consequently, users who are still operating on an older Android 14 build from November 2024 will need to wait for access to the latest update.

The April update includes a new Scam Detection feature, but Google has not provided a comprehensive changelog outlining further details about the update’s features. The company clarified that this update would only be available to those who previously received the March update. Despite Wear OS 5.1 beginning its rollout on March 4, the update was abruptly halted weeks later, resulting in many users being left in the dark.

For those affected, Google has promised a future update to address this issue, stating, “For those who did not receive the original March update, we will be rolling out an update in the coming weeks; more details to come.” However, if you are one of the many Pixel Watch users still using the older Android 14 build, it seems you’ll need to exercise a bit of patience before getting your hands on the latest software. The April update is set to fix two persistent issues previously reported by users. Specifically, it corrects a bug that prevented some users from modifying or adding watch faces via the Pixel Watch mobile app and resolves delays in notification delivery.

It is vital to remember that this update is only accessible to those already on the firmware version BP1A.250305.019.W3, associated with the March update. If you’re not on this version, the April update will not be available to you.
