A recent survey has hinted at an upcoming redesign of the Google Photos homepage, indicating the company’s effort to create a more modern interface. This information surfaced from a Telegram user, @Arfus_UwU, who shared a screenshot of the survey that likely reveals the potential changes to the application. Participants in the survey were asked to evaluate two different homepage designs: the current version and a new layout that could be implemented in a future update.
The new design presents a contemporary aesthetic, with several significant updates, including rounded corners for the photo grid and the introduction of a floating bottom navigation bar. The proposed changes include notable features that enhance the user experience. For instance, the photos displayed in the grid will have rounded corners, providing a softer, more inviting look.
The new “Search or ask” bar is expected to be accompanied by a squircle-shaped button, which may serve as a direct shortcut to the “Collections” page. Additionally, the Google Photos logo will undergo a rebranding, with a more subtle app icon replacing the text on the top left corner. Other updates comprise redesigned filter and selection icons, as well as altered text alignment in the “Memories” section.
These potential updates come on the heels of prior discoveries that Google is revamping the photo viewer within Google Photos. This suggests a broader effort by the company to refresh multiple aspects of the app. Although these updates are not yet confirmed, the survey strongly indicates that Google is actively considering a modernized and streamlined user interface for Google Photos.
